Kalkeriet Contemporary is pleased to present Ballon floor lamp designed by Lucie Koldova and Dan Yeffet for Brokis. Balloons is a collection of timeless lights embodying rudimental forms evoking images of hot air balloons, captivates with the beauty of large-format handblown glass and an elegant metal reflector hovering within. The design’s charm lies in the use of two independent glass sections to achieve the impression of an integral whole. Lavish proportions and an elegant hand-pressed metal reflector are the collection’s defining traits. The size of the largest shade pushes the very boundaries of glassblowing technology and illustrates the exceptional skill and craftsmanship of Bohemian glassmakers. The Balloons collection is one of the pillars of the BROKIS portfolio. The lights come in three sizes. Balloons also make an outstanding sculptural statement during the day when they are switched off.
Back in 2010, Lucie Koldova embarked on her illustrious journey in France, where she unveiled her exceptional glass lighting collections, Muffins and Balloons, designed exclusively for Brokis. Her formative years in the heart of Paris provided her with a rich tapestry of cultural influences, inspirations, and motifs, all of which she masterfully wove into her own charismatic, elegant style and a sensuous formal language. Lucie seamlessly blends classic craftsmanship with state-of-the-art technologies, all the while focusing on the innate beauty of materials like wood and glass. Her emotive style is characterized by the breathtaking use of colors, unconventional proportions, and vibrant formal contrasts. Her creations often push the boundaries of what is deemed possible.
International designer Dan Yeffet established his own studio in Amsterdam in 2003 after completing university. In 2005, he relocated to Paris, where he creates works that embrace traditional craftsmanship and innovative technologies alike. Dan’s work encompasses not only products of daily use but also conceptual spaces, urban spaces, and works in galleries around the world, including Chicago, Philadelphia, and New London, Luxembourg, Paris, and London.
