Inside Kalkeriet

Our Perspective

Artists and designers are central to Kalkeriet’s programme. Photographs, furniture, objects and textiles are presented with attention to the ideas and processes that shape each practice.

Authorship, material, craftsmanship and edition inform the gallery’s selection. By placing works from different disciplines in dialogue, each presentation offers new ways to consider their form, meaning and context.

Exhibitions

Kalkeriet’s exhibition programme brings contemporary art and collectible design into dialogue through solo and group exhibitions in Malmö and presentations in conjunction with international art and design events.

The gallery also collaborates with museums, lending works for exhibitions and working with curators and institutional teams on projects that extend beyond individual loans.

Past presentations include Andy Warhol: The Marilyn Maquette and Henzel Studio Collaborations at PDC Design Gallery in West Hollywood, in conjunction with Frieze Los Angeles. In April 2026, Figure and Surface brought together fine art photography and collectible design at Kalkeriet Contemporary in Malmö, with selected works also presented online to coincide with miart in Milan.
