Kalkeriet Contemporary is pleased to presents Nine.5, a limited edition of sculptural furniture created with New York–based architect and designer Suchi Reddy and Ekaya, the renowned Banarasi textile atelier in New Delhi. Developed over five years of dialogue, the series includes a bench, chaise, chair, table, and lighting defined by contemporary wood silhouettes. Produced by SFA Works and upholstered in custom textiles designed by Reddy and woven by Ekaya’s master artisans, the collection celebrates innovation rooted in heritage.

Based in New York City, architect and designer Suchi Reddy founded Reddymade in 2002 as a cross-disciplinary practice working across institutional and commercial spaces, public art, adaptive reuse, and residential design—from single-family homes to micro-apartments and prefabricated architecture. Her work is recognized for its research-driven focus on the emotional and psychological impact of space, materials, color, texture, and light, guided by her principle that form should follow feeling. Born in Chennai, India, Reddy’s approach is shaped by her cultural heritage and her ongoing research at the intersection of neuroscience and the arts.

Reddy has led design research initiatives for Google Inc. and created the company’s first retail concept, which opened in New York in 2021. She teaches at Columbia University’s Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation and at Cooper Union, and has held distinguished academic appointments exploring neuroaesthetics and sensory design.

Her work has been widely exhibited, with commissions including installations for the National Building Museum and the Smithsonian in Washington, D.C., and public art projects in Times Square and Brooklyn’s Prospect Park.
