ROBERT KNOKE, AA (Bronson), 2008 / 2019
Edition of 15 + 4 E.A.
Silkscreen on matt silver paper
Signed and numbered by the artist on recto
70 cm x 50 cm (27.5 x 19.5 in)
The limited edition print series are a "revisited" version of drawings, that Knoke turned into silkscreen prints. The motives of the drawings, who are originally drawn in black and white, are getting a new interpretation by editing the motives, using colored paper or adding paint by hand. Robert Knoke gained worldwide recognition over the past ten years for his large-scale drawings of personalities shaping contemporary culture. He explores the genre of portraiture and its role in an era dominated by photography, redefining the genre for the 21st century.
