Kalkeriet Contemporary is pleased to present the Creso table by Lella and Massimo Vignelli. A singular form with a monolith’s silhouette, the Creso experiments with a sole pedestal of support to transform a table into the kind of vigorous geometry that defined the eye of Lella and Massimo Vignelli. Returned to a more faithful rendering of Vignelli’s ideas, the new Creso explores a use of materials that underlines the potency of the design, with its round top and pillar base crafted formidably in travertine, or topped by glass and marble, braced by a base with various metallic finishes.
Nero Marquina marble is extracted from Spanish caves and is deep black in colour. This natural stone is crossed by white or light grey veins. Stone slabs of first choice, carefully matched from the same block, without necessary granting of the continuity of the grains. Any differences in the texture, grains, color, or the presence of natural cracks filled with resin are natural attributes.
Lella and Massimo Vignelli are a husband-and wife team. They studied in Venice, ltaly, and in 1960 established the Massimo and Lella Vignelli Office of Design and Architecture in Milan, working with graphics, products, furniture and interiors. In 1965 they founded Unimark lnternational Corporation, and, in 1971, Vignelli Associates, with an office in New York and liaison offices in Paris and Milan. The Vignellis’ work has been awarded numerous prizes and exhibited several times in sector publications, in the United States and abroad. Several of his works are included in the permanent collections of several museums.
