Calle Henzel is a Swedish artist and designer whose work explores the intersection of contemporary art and collectible design. Over the past three decades, he has developed a distinctive visual language defined by abstraction, deconstruction, and material experimentation—merging conceptual rigor with tactile depth. Henzel’s practice spans multiple cities, including periods working in New York City and Milan, enriching his approach through diverse cultural and artistic environments. His oeuvre includes both solo pieces and collaborative editions created in dialogue with some of contemporary art’s most influential voices. Collaborations with Nan Goldin, The Andy Warhol Foundation, Richard Prince, and Mickalene Thomas have resulted in works that blur disciplinary boundaries and expand notions of authorship. His pieces—both individual and collaborative—have been exhibited at institutions including MoMA PS1, The Broad, MOCA, and The Goss-Michael Foundation. Positioned at the convergence of fine art, design, and cultural commentary, Henzel’s work is known for its sculptural presence, raw elegance, and emotionally charged surfaces.
