Developed for Atelier Bowy C.D., part of Henzel Studio, this work by Suchi Reddy forms part of The Atelier Editions program, a series of limited textile works created in collaboration with artists, architects and designers. The piece is introduced in the context of Milan Design Week 2026 at Museo Nazionale Scienza e Tecnologia Leonardo da Vinci, within the historic spaces of Le Cavallerizze.
Extending her sculptural practice into textile form, Reddy develops a work that moves between wall and floor, allowing the composition to activate space rather than remain confined to a single surface. The work unfolds as a two-part composition that can move between wall and floor, allowing the elements to activate different planes within a room and establish a dialogue between architecture, object and environment.
The design grows from Reddy’s guiding principle, “Form Follows Feeling,” an approach that places emotional and sensory experience at the center of the design process. Rather than beginning with strict geometry, the composition emerges from atmospheric impressions of landscape and light.
Across the surface, shifting tonal fields suggest the movement of light through trees, reflections on water and the shadows cast across the ground. These subtle transitions evoke the sensation of walking through nature, where light continuously transforms the surrounding environment.
Variations in pile height translate these atmospheric qualities into textile relief. Areas of softness and density create quiet changes in surface depth, allowing the rug to respond to light and perspective. The result is a composition that feels fluid and open, where color and texture unfold gradually across the surface.
Based in New York, Reddy is the founder of Reddymade Architecture and Design and works internationally across architecture, art and design. Her practice often explores how built environments can shape emotional and sensory experience, combining spatial thinking with a strong interest in material and perception.
For this collaboration with Atelier Bowy C.D. and Henzel Studio, those ideas are translated into hand-knotted textile form. The rug becomes both artwork and spatial element, capable of extending beyond the floor to engage walls and architectural surfaces.
Presented within the historic spaces of Le Cavallerizze during Milan Design Week, the work introduces a shifting landscape of light and feeling into the exhibition space, where atmosphere and material converge in textile form.
