Kalkeriet Contemporary is pleased to present Calle Henzel. In the Night Editions collection, Calle Henzel revisits earlier works through a restrained, near-monochromatic palette that emphasizes simplicity and material presence. Several rugs undergo a vintage wash treatment that creates a deliberately worn appearance, deconstructing the wool to the knots and reshaping the surface with a textured, time-marked character. Handmade using varied washing techniques, each piece carries inherent color shifts and individual nuances. Drawing on minimalist traditions, the collection treats black as an active element of depth and balance rather than absence, inviting quiet reflection on the nature of art. Through this approach, Henzel continues to explore the tension between function and artistic intention, positioning the rug as both object and artwork.

Calle Henzel has collaborated with some of the most prominent names and foundations in contemporary art including; Richard Prince, Nan Goldin, Mickalene Thomas, Lawrence Weiner, Douglas Gordon, Anselm Reyle, Juergen Teller, Tom of Finland Foundation and The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts, among others. His collaborations and own designs has been exhibited at prominent venues such as MOCA, Katonah Museum of Art, Boca Raton Museum of Art, Rossana Orlandi Gallery and The Goss-Michael Foundation.
