Kalkeriet Contemporary is pleased to present IVY I, a LED lamp designed by Vittorio Massimo in 2022 for Lodes, the Italian premium lighting brand. The IVY lamp draws its name and inspiration from the plant ivy, known for its ability to climb and adapt to its environment. The design features numerous lamps clustered on intertwined and overlapping cables, mimicking the natural growth patterns of ivy branches. The design also draws inspiration from rings, particularly wedding rings worn as pendants on necklaces. Each lamp is positioned on a double cable, symbolizing the ring's preciousness and simplicity.
Vittorio Massimo was born in Treviso in 1981. From 2007 he collaborated with the John Pawson Architects studio of London for three years, as well as with the MZC+ studio of Treviso till 2017. Presently he follows either private assignments and participates to national and international awards. In 2010 he was European project finalist at Galway in Ireland for the arrangement of a section of the city, then he obtained a second place in Galliera Veneta for the New Museum and Civic Centre in the city centre, and a first place for the arrangement of the historical centre of Palazzolo di Sona by Verona.
During recent years he has been also working on product design, and in 2014 he won the Chicago Athenaeum Good Design Award with his lamp ‘Boomy’ for Fabbian Illuminazione.
Venice-based Lodes has been designing and producing lighting solutions for interiors and exteriors since 1950. Originating in founder Angelo Tosetto’s passion for glass and informed by continuous technological research, the company has evolved into one of Europe’s leading designers and manufacturers of decorative lighting.
