Kalkeriet Contemporary is pleased to present the Free System sofa by Claudio Salocchi for Acerbis. Claudio Salocchi (Milan, 1934 – 2012) was an Italian architect and designer. He was a protagonist of the creative ferment of the 60s and 70s who knew how to interpret the transformations of that period into projects that anticipated forms, functionalities, technologies and new typologies that became trends many years later. In his long career he was internationally involved for more than fifty years in the fields of industrial design, architecture and interior design. Free System is an upholstered furniture system with modular elements on a supporting structure of solid wood and plywood, base with elastic straps, feet and concealed coupling system. Padding in single-density polyurethane foam and polyester wadding.
The upholstery on seats and back is quilted to enhance softness and increase seating comfort thanks to shaped polyurethane rubber inserts. The sofa is completely upholstered with removable covers. The coupling system uses special plastic clips.
Acerbis offers a luxurious design experience that seamlessly aligns with the conceptual aesthetics of its furnishings. Through years of experimentation and industrialization, Acerbis has forged a distinct DNA of Italian ingenuity, catering to a forward-thinking clientele. Today, this mission is revitalized with fresh vigor. The recent partnership with industry leader MDF Italia, coupled with the appointment of creative directors Francesco Meda and David Lopez Quincoces, marks a dynamic new chapter for Acerbis. This collaboration reaffirms Acerbis' family-led tradition of visionary design, presenting a universe of creations that beautifully merge functionality with avant-garde innovation.
