COMING SOON: RICHARD BERNSTEIN / IN CONJUNCTION WITH FRIEZE LOS ANGELES
Kalkeriet Contemporary is pleased to present a limited edition handmade carpet; Black Jello Heart by artist Richard Bernstein (1939–2002) in collaboration with Henzel Studio. The launch at Kalkeriet coincides with Frieze Los Angeles and the exhibition Henzel Studio @ The Edition WeHo.
While Richard Bernstein is most widely remembered today as the creator of Andy Warhol’s Interview Magazine distinctive covers since the mid-60s he was one of the pioneers and architects of Pop Art. Blurring the line between commercial and fine art, Bernstein’s technicolor work, on canvases and magazine covers, captured the glamor, extravagance, and innovation of the Pop Art era.
